HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- The Hurlburt Field Airman & Family Readiness Center will no longer issue PLAYpass cards as of Feb. 19.

"PLAYpass has been under a financial review at the Air Force level," said Lt. Col. James Beaty, 1st Special Operations Force Support Squadron commander. "Funding authorized for
PLAYpass was not unlimited, and due to increased utilization of the program, it has been determined that redemption of PLAYpass value will be discontinued."

Airmen can continue to pay for eligible programs with their current PLAYpass through March 31, or until the program's funds have been exhausted, which may be sooner.

"PLAYpass may be used at activities for qualified social, recreational, fitness and learning programs, as well as tours through FSS facilities," Beaty said. "Some restrictions do
apply. Purchases of food, beverage, resale items and lodging costs are categorically exempt."

Hurlburt FSS facilities may issue vouchers for PLAYpass eligible programs through March 31, and all vouchers will be honored through Dec. 31.

Due to the high volume of redemptions for eligible tours and the limited funds remaining in the program, tour packages will no longer be offered through Information Tickets and Travel.

"If you have a previously scheduled appointment, we will honor it," said Beaty. "However, we are unable to accommodate any additional walk-in customers for PLAYpass redemptions."
