KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF strongly condemns the brutal attack on a Kabul hotel March 20, which resulted in the deaths of at least nine civilians, including women and children.

"I express my deepest sympathies to the victims and families of those wounded and killed in last night's attack on the Serena Hotel," said Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., the ISAF commander. "On the occasion of Nowruz, which should be a time of celebration, this attack shows a complete disregard for human life.”

Afghan National Security Forces responded quickly to the scene, killing the four insurgents responsible for this senseless act and preventing further loss of life in this tragic incident.
