Gilbert football coach receives Marine Corps coaching award

PHOENIX - Coach Max Ragsdale of Campo Verde High School in Gilbert, Ariz. has been chosen to receive the 2013 Semper Fi Coach Award, which he will receive during a presentation at the Phoenix Glazier Football Clinic at the Hilton Phoenix East/Mesa, Feb. 8, 2014.

Ragsdale was nominated for the award by the Marines of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Phoenix for exemplifying the Marine Corps’ leadership values of honor, courage and commitment.

“The goal each year is to be state champions, but making better husbands, better fathers and better men is our ultimate goal,” said Ragsdale.

The Semper Fi Coach Award is currently in its third year and is annually given by the U.S. Marines Corps and Glazier Football Clinics to coaches across the country during Glazier’s 34 on-site football clinics. More than 34,000 coaches attended in 2013.
