Expeditionary security forces squadron deactivates at Kandahar

KANDAHAR AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – The 451st Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron officially deactivated during a ceremony at Camp Losano, Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, Dec. 27, 2013.

Brig. Gen. Michael Fantini, 451st Air Expeditionary Wing commander and Commander, KAF, was present with Danish Air Force Col. Henrik Kanstrup, Deputy Commander, KAF.

During the ceremony, Col. Sean Tyler, 451st Expeditionary Mission Support Group commander, and Maj. Richard Zeigler, 451st ESFS commander, cased the 451st ESFS guidon.

During his remarks, Zeigler said it was sad to deactivate the squadron, but he was proud of the work the unit has done for the past 7.5 years.
