LOGAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Afghan Local Police detained two suspected insurgents in Mohammad Agah District, Logar province, Dec. 4.
The ALP made the arrests near the Ahmadzai village while conducting a route reconnaissance to provide security along village roads and deter emplacement of improvised explosive devices.
As the ALP moved along the eastern side of Ahmadzai village, the two suspects attacked them. The ALP returned fire and arrested the suspects in the process.
“We saw the two insurgent suspects shooting and later throwing their weapons in the river,” said an ALP representative.
Both suspects will be taken to the provincial capital to await their trial, said Capt. Abdul Wakil, district police chief.
