Soldier of the Week: Spc. Danielle Lambert

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – This week’s U.S. Army Central Soldier of the Week is Spc. Danielle Lambert, a Howell, Mich., native and nodal network systems operator/maintainer, assigned to the 72nd Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Schweinfurt, Germany. Lambert is currently serving a nine-month tour in Kuwait. She has served for more than two years and was just selected for promotion to the rank of sergeant.

“I joined the Army to travel the world and to become marketable in a new field,” said Lambert. “I love Germany. I’ve had a nice experience so far and have enjoyed this deployment.”

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Comedy. I love to laugh.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I love crab legs.
Q: What are your goals?
A: My goal to complete a bachelor’s degree in architecture. I would like to design hospitals.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: My family, my parents and my three brothers. I’m the only girl, so they weren’t sure about me joining the Army at first. They wanted me to stay home, but they have been very supportive ever since I graduated from basic combat training. I’m sure they will be excited about my promotion when they find out.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I enjoy reading and cooking. I especially love to bake cookies, brownies and anything bad for you.
Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: Abraham Lincoln. He faced a lot of controversy. Meeting him would make me a better person because I would learn how he dealt with and overcame his challenges.
