WASHINGTON - What: A week’s worth of food, including a complete Thanksgiving Dinner, is being provided to 125 needy military families from all five branches of the military.

Who: The annual project is a partnership between Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Volunteers from JBAB, KPMG, LLC (a nationwide accounting firm) and Project Giveback.

Volunteers from KPMG, LLC and Project Giveback pack the boxes and transport them to JBAB in a large truck, which volunteers at JBAB offload and distribute to needy military families.

When: Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, 10:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m

Where: Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, off I-295 Exit 3 in Ward 8, Southeast D.C., in the parking area just inside the Firth-Sterling access gate. Plenty of parking is available adjacent to the event site.

Base access: When 10 minutes out, call 202-607-5606 (JBAB PAO) to be met at the gate; check your credentials and allow access. RSVPs are requested for our planning, but we understand a crew may not be assigned until the last minute, so they are not required.

Required documentation: (All personnel) - Media credentials (with photo) from a media employer, WHNPA, NPPA, MPD (or other area Police Dept.) or one of the Capitol Hill locations (Senate, etc.). Drivers of vehicles are also required to have (with them and in hard copy) - Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance (must be in effect at least through the event date).

Vehicle and personal search – All vehicles and personnel accessing the base are subject to search as a condition of access. Searches are conducted at the discretion of the DOD Police.

Media availability: Media will have the ability to shoot B-Roll, still images and conduct interviews (arranged via the JBAB PAO on the scene) of willing volunteers and families.
