CAMP MARMAL, Afghanistan - Staff Sgt. Sheila D. Lucious, a native of Chicago, is unique among her peers, the average soldier driving convoy missions in Afghanistan is 20 something years old, Lucious is more than 50 years old, she is a onetime great grandmother, three times grandmother. Her oldest grandson is in the Arkansas National Guard.
Don’t let her age fool you, she is hard corps! Lucious has been in the Army more than 13 years, deploying two times, she can drive every vehicle in the 1230th inventory, this includes Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles, recovery vehicles and more.
Lucious is looking forward to this deployment, using her skills and experience to close camps, run convoys, and drive trucks!
