BSU ladies soccer team to visit MHAFB on eve of Military Appreciation Day

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- The Boise State University ladies soccer team is scheduled to visit Mountain Home Air Force Base Oct. 5, a day prior to their Military Appreciation Day match in Boise.

The Broncos play the U.S. Air Force Academy Falcons ladies soccer team at the Boas Soccer Complex in Boise on Oct. 6, at noon.

About 20 female 'footballers' will arrive at the base fitness center at 10 a.m. and meet with anyone, Air Force or sister service, who has deployed into a combat zone, or is a Wounded Warrior.

They intend to relocate to the fitness center's soccer field around 10:30 a.m. where everyone, including family members or retirees, is welcomed to meet with the team.

The Broncos will hold a free soccer clinic to interested people of all ages from 11 a.m. until noon.

Any forces visiting the base for the Mountain Roundup 2013 exercise are also welcomed to attend.

Roughly 600 German Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, Army, Navy and Air National Guard service members are expected to be in the local area for the multinational combined-joint exercise. A few dozen Royal Canadian Airmen are also expected.
