DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. - The Davis-Monthan Air Force Base men's varsity basketball team is slated to hold tryouts Aug. 29-30 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Aug. 31 from 1-3 p.m. at the Benko Fitness Center.

Active duty airmen, civilian workers, and military dependents 18 years and older are welcomed to try out. Because the team rebuilds every year, all 12 slots are open for tryout.

Along with returning head coach, Master Sgt. Luis Colon, the team has a new co-head coach, Mario Ramirez.

The team will play in tournaments and has 25 games scheduled for the season.

The first game is scheduled for Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at Benko here versus Westwind Preparatory Academy's national team.

The D-M team will have fundraising events to support the costs of traveling and playing in games and tournaments throughout their season.

For more information about tryouts or helping with team fundraising, contact Master Sgt. Colon at 228-4477.
