Army Command and General Staff College classmates reunite

CAMP ZAMPA, Japan - Following an assumption of command ceremony held at Camp Zama, Japan, Aug. 6, three general officers got together for a picture that memorialized friendships begun over two decades earlier.

Gen. Vincent K. Brooks, commanding general of U.S. Army Pacific, Gen. Eiji Kimizuka, Japan Ground Self Defense Force chief of staff, and Maj. Gen. James C. Boozer Sr., the new commander of U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward), were classmates at the same Army Command and General Staff College class held at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, 23 years ago.

The assumption of command ceremony for Gen. Boozer presented a unique opportunity as Gen. Brooks is also new to his command at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, having assumed duties the previous month.
