Soldier of the week: Pfc. Asia Warren

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait– This week’s Third Army/ARCENT Soldier of the Week is Pfc. Asia Warren, an administrative clerk in charge of casualty affairs, assigned to the 22nd Human Resource Company, 593rd Sustainment Brigade, and is deployed to Kuwait with Third Army/ARCENT.

Warren, native of Lake Butler, Fla., has served in the Army for 20 months and this is her first deployment.

“I wanted to do something to make my family, friends and the people in my community proud of me,” said Warren, “Serving my country lets me see the world from a different perspective.”

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Comedy, I love to laugh.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Seafood; I am from Florida and that is to be expected.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: My decision to join the Army. My siblings are so proud of me. They look at me as the big sister who took a chance and sacrificed so much.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Reading, watching sports, playing football and shopping.
Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: My father. He died of cancer when I was a freshman in high school. I would like to show him how far I have come, get his opinions on life and thank him for getting me to where I am.
