MASFIELD, Ohio - The 179th Airlift Wing in Mansfield, Ohio, received two C130 aircraft on May 24, 2013. These are the first two out of the eight C130s the 179th will be receiving as part of their new mission.
Members of the 179th Airlift Wing in Mansfeild, Ohio give their thoughts on the return of the C-130 mission. On August 14, 2010 the 179th Airlift Wing took delivery of the first C-27 J Spartan aircraft and began a new direct support mission. Before the C-27 J Spartans, the 179th's mission was the C-130 and many memebrs are excited about the return of the aircraft.
