PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - Recruits of Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, marched through their initial drill evaluation July 15, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C., marking the end of their first phase of training.
Close-order drill helps transform recruits into Marines by developing teamwork and unit cohesion. Close-order drill also instills discipline by teaching habits of precision and immediate response to orders. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 6, 2013.
