Who/What: Airman 1st Class Justin Morris was recently selected as one of Air Force Centeral Command’s “Airmen in the Fight” for 2013. The Airmen (service members and civil servants) who are showcased in this initiative have exemplified the Air Force core values of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all they do. Morris has an amazing story about his Air Force career, and is excited to share what it means to him to serve his country.
Morris was recently featured in an “Airmen in the Fight” video. This video showcases his job as an aircraft metals technologist with the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing and highlights his dedication to the mission.

When: Throughout 2013, AFCENT Public Affairs will be sending hometown news releases to media outlets in all 50 states and U.S. territories to spread the word about the amazing jobs our Airmen are performing in the Air Force Centeral Command area of responsibility. USAFCENT isresponsible for developing contingency plans and conducting air operations in a 20-country AOR stretching from Southwest Asia to Pakistan, and as far north as Kyrgyzstan.

BACKGROUND ON HOMETOWN HERO: Morris graduated from Grayslake Central High School in Grayslake, Ill., in 2006. He got his start in metal work while attending a vocational school doing automotive body work. He enlisted in the Air Force in October 2011.
Morris,currently serving on his first deployment,is deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. He has been married to his wife, Gina for two years and has a 10-month-old daughter, Theresa.
