Army Reserve soldiers compete in Best Warrior Competition

What: Best Warrior Competition

Who: A dozen Soldiers from the Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command and Military Intelligence Readiness Command

When: Thursday, April 18, from 9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Where: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, 08640

Background: The Army Reserve’s Military Intelligence Readiness Command and 99th Regional Support Command will sponsor the FY13 Best Warrior Competition at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ, from April 17-19.

On April 18, a dozen Soldiers are scheduled to compete in various events such as the Land Navigation Course, Evaluate a Casualty, Perform First Aid, Select and Construct Fighting Positions, Move Under Direct Fire and Plan Convoy Operations.

The Best Warrior Competition tests the mental and physical resiliency of its participants, putting their training and experience to the test. The competition also helps build personal confidence and team esprit d’corps.

Winners from each command are scheduled to compete in the United States Army Reserve Command’s Best Warrior Competition, scheduled from June 23-28, 2013, at Fort McCoy, Wis.
