KABUL, Afghanistan - Troopers from the Kapisa Provincial Response Company, advised by coalition special operations forces, conducted an operation to serve a high-risk arrest warrant on the night of April 4.
As a result, one insurgent suspect was killed by Afghan Police when he attempted to engage the PRC and ISU with a hand-grenade. A substantial amount of explosives and illegal weapons, as well as Taliban propaganda materials were also seized as evidence. No Afghan civilian were harmed and there were no police were injured during this operation.
This operation was launched in coordination with Investigative Surveillance Unit Kapisa, advised by coalition forces’ special operations forces of the U.S. Army’s Special Forces from Task Unit Kapisa. Also during this operation, PRC Kapisa coordinated closely with local officials and other Afghan law enforcement agencies of the Ministry of Interior to ensure all procedures were conducted properly and in accordance with Afghan law.
“The troopers from our PRC here in Kapisa handled themselves very well during this mission,” said Capt. Flinton, a U.S. Army Special Forces mentor to PRC Kapisa.
The Kapisa PRC and ISU, along with U.S. Special Forces soldiers of TU Kapisa are working to bring increased security and stability to the people of the province and to strengthen Afghan Rule-of-Law, while adding to the capacity of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
