Soldier of the Week: Sgt. Frank S. Perez

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s Third Army/ARCENT Soldier of the Week is Sgt. Frank S. Perez, Third Army/ARCENT joint multinational network division noncommissioned officer and systems administrator.

Perez, a Los Angeles native, has been in the Army for five years and came to Third Army/ARCENT after serving at Fort Sill, Okla. Perez has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.

“The Army was my last resort in life,” said Perez, “I made a lot of bad decisions before joining and I know I didn’t want my life to go in the direction it was going. I have an uncle that had just retired and he helped me join in April 2008.”

Q: What is your favorite movie genre?

A: Action and comedy.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: BACON.

Q: What are your goals?

A: My goal is to retire from the Army after at least 20 years at the highest rank I can finish my schooling/certifications so I can be ready for the civilian worked when I get out.

Q: What are you most proud of?

A: My family.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I like to work out A LOT. I like movies, photography, working out (twice as much), and setting and meeting new physical goals for myself.

Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?

A: My brother. We have both gone through a lot together growing up and I feel I don’t spend enough time with him.
