FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood's newest aviation unit will debut its unmanned aerial system the MQ-1C Gray Eagle at 9:30 a.m., March 5, at Robert Gray Army Airfield here.
Soldiers assigned to Company E, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, were assigned to the 21st Cavalry Brigade, Sept. 16, 2012, for training and certification. They began night-flight operations with the Gray Eagle UAS out RGAAF, Jan. 30.
On March 5, the unit will complete 100 hours of incident free flight and begin daytime flight operations with a landing at 10:30 a.m.

On the day of the event, media should meet at the south-side parking lot of the Fort Hood visitors center at 9 a.m. Crewmember interviews will be from 9:45 a.m.-10 a.m. A static display aircraft will be available as well.
