Army Reserve brigade hosts Best Warrior Competition

JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. – The Army Reserve’s 77th Sustainment Brigade hosted its Best Warrior Competition here Feb. 22-24.

Winning the competition were Sgt. Michael Skelley and Spc. Christine Hoyt, representing the brigade’s 77th Special Troops Battalion.

The three-day competition consisted of events such as the Army Physical Fitness Test, urban land navigation, weapons simulator, casualty treatment, road march and board appearance.

Skelley and Hoyt beat out fellow competitors Sgt. Luis Santini, representing the 389th Combat Service Support Battalion, and Spc. Kyle Rice, representing the 462nd Transportation Battalion.

The winners will advance to the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command’s Best Warrior Competition, scheduled to be held in late March at Fort Devens, Mass.
