The patching ceremony was conducted by U.S. Command Sgt. Maj. Jefferson Moser, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division officially recognize the SFAT deployment into a combat zone.

“It is an honor for us as Texans from the 36th Infantry Division to be able to wear the 3rd Infantry Division’s combat Patch,” said Lt. Col. William Philips, Commander U.S. Security Force Advisory Team, 56th Infantry Brigade, 36th Infantry Division.

“The 36th Infantry Division and the 3rd Infantry Division share a proud heritage because of our linkage to Audie Murphy, one of the most famous and decorated American combat soldiers who received the Medal of Honor during World War II and served in both units,” Phillips said.
