MANHATTAN, Kan. - The 625th and 378th Movement Control Teams under the 561st Regional Support Group, 451st Expeditionary Sustainment Command, held a farewell ceremony, Jan. 5, at the American Legion in Manhattan, Kan.
The MCTs are scheduled to deploy this year to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
“I’m very excited about this deployment,” said 1st Lt. Kassandra Palmer, commander of the 625th MCT. “[These soldiers] are highly motivated to accomplish their mission.”
MCTs typically provide movement control of personnel, equipment, sustainment supplies, and coordinate transportation of bulk fuel and water.
They will conduct these operations to support drawdown and sustainment efforts, said Palmer.
“We are all prepared and excited for the mission,” said Staff Sgt. Mark Hamm, with the 625th MCT. “I’m very proud of each and every one of these soldiers.”
Their preparation consisted of mandatory training and various soldiering tasks, said Palmer.
“They’ve all done a great job at preparing,” said 1st Lt. George Randall, commander of the 378th MCT. “I appreciate all the support from the friends and family members of these soldiers.”
“I feel confident they know what to expect and look forward to their return,” said Brig. Gen. Kenneth Jones, commander of the 451st Expeditionary Sustainment Command.
