PAKTIKA PROVINCE, Afghanistan –On a chilly afternoon Dec. 16, Santa and one of his helpers made a special visit to the soldiers of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st InfantryDivision, at Forward Operating Base Sharana, Afghanistan. Santa stopped his seasonal work at the mall and the Salvation Army to show the soldiers that he cares for the warfighter.
To increase the holiday spirit at the base, Santa and the USO, held a holiday party and give-away at the base.
Throughout the night, attendees received the opportunity to win an autographed Dallas Cowboys or Pittsburgh Steelers football helmet, movie collections and raffle contests.
