    FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who was found unresponsive in his barracks room Nov. 13. Doctors pronounced him deceased the same day.

    Spc. Kyle Evan Bergeland, 21, whose home of record is also listed as Keizer, Ore., entered the military in July 2009 as an M1 armor crewman. He arrived at Fort Hood in January 2010 and was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 38th Cavalry Regiment, 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, Fort Hood, since June 2010.

    Bergeland deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from June 2011 to May 2012.

    Bergeland's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver Wheeled Vehicles.

    Circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation.
