FORT STEWART, Ga.— Sgt. Charles B. Robin a power generation equipment specialist with 632nd Maintenance Company, 87th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, was an honored guest at the Hinesville Rotary Club, Oct. 9, for his career accomplishments, including his latest win at his unit’s Soldier of the Month board.
Robin, who was accompanied by 1st Sgt. Richard L. Powell, expressed his appreciation to the Rotary Club after being awarded a certificate of excellence and introduced to assembled members as a dedicated soldier and family man, whose hobbies included weightlifting.
Robin thanked his family, especially his wife for her support during his previous deployments, his first sergeant and the members of the Rotary Club. He also admitted amidst congenial laughter that he wasn’t even aware that he would be receiving an award from the Rotary Club until a couple of weeks before receiving it.
“I really didn’t know about this award until two weeks ago when my platoon sergeant told me I was recommended,” said Robin. “The first thing I [said] was I didn’t remember going into competition.”
Robin ended his speech with gratitude for his award and a promise to continue work hard for his unit and his soldiers.
“Thanks you very much,” he said. “I’m going to try my best to keep doing what I love doing, taking care of soldiers and striving for excellence.”
