HERAT, Afghanistan - Rasa Juknevičienė, the Lithuanian minister of defense, visited yesterday the Headquarters of Regional Command West, ISAF’s subcommand to which belongs the Lithuanian contingent deployed in the province of Ghor.
The minister was welcomed by Brig. Gen. Dario Ranieri, who provided her with an operational update, with special focus on the progresses ongoing with the transition process.
Before flying to Chaghcharan, where the Lithuanian Provincial Reconstruction Team is based, Rasa Juknevičienė met with the commander of the 207th Corps of the Afghan National Army and with the Lithuanian staff serving at the headquarters.
