MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. – Semper Fit held their annual Health Fair at the Barber Physical Activity Center on Sept. 20. Informational booths were set up by Semper Fit, preventative medicine, dental, behavioral health and other vendors.
“The vendors are mostly made up of in-house health and family services,” said Lauren King, Semper Fit dietitian. “We have vendors representing health in all forms from preventative, to mental and physical.”
Patrons were able to visit more than 15 tables with displays and speak with representatives from the facilities.
“It’s a nice way for everyone to see what is available on base, when it comes to taking care of their health,” said Nancy Walker, registered nurse and health educator.
The fair was set up throughout the fitness center during lunch time making it easy for patrons to come by.
“People tell me all the time they had no idea I worked here,” said King. “Having the fair gives service members and their families a chance to see what all is offered on base that they didn’t know was offered.”
