    103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)

    Fort Leavenworth, Kan.- Bettina R. Moncus was promoted to the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve during a ceremony held at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., on June 1.

    Moncus is the daughter of Richard H. and Kathy Moncus of Montgomery, Ala. She is a 1977 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School, Montgomery, Ala., and received a bachelor's degree in business in 1984 from Troy University, Montgomery, Ala. She earned a master's degree in business from Webster University, Platt City, Mo., in 1995.

    Moncus served in numerous leadership positions for Army logistics units throughout her 30 year military career. She also served two combat tours overseas- as the deputy commander of Camp Behring, Kuwait, and as the deputy commander of Contingency Operating Base Speicher in Tikrit, Iraq. She most recently served as the assistant chief of staff, deputy G4 for the 103rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) in Des Moines, Iowa.

    In addition to her military service, Moncus volunteered hundreds of off-duty hours to support various community projects including Army Reserve family programs. She received the Outstanding Service Award for humanitarian efforts from People to People International for her work with a South Korean blind orphanage.

    Moncus currently resides in Leavenworth, Kan., and is a Military Analyst at the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
