News: Insurgents arrested, cache captured in Helmand province

HELMAND PROVINCE, Afghanistan - An interdiction team detained one man who was transporting narcotics in Helmand province, June 20. The man's vehicle and 490 kilograms (1,080 pounds) of wet opium were destroyed on the site.
The Helmand Governor's Media Center has reported that the National Department of Security has arrested two insurgents and captured a significant amount of contraband in Lashkar-Gah and Nad-e-Ali districts, Helmand province, during the week of June 17. Afghan security forces confiscated 60 kilograms (132 lbs) of poppy, one machinegun, five small arms, ammunition and various manufactured and improvised explosives.
