News: Contract awarded to repair flood damage

KANSAS CITY, Mo.— The Kansas City District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded another contract to repair 2011 flood damage to a levee along the Missouri River.
A contract was awarded to ESI Contracting Corporation of Kansas City, Mo., March 22, 2012, for $1.7 million to repair the Canon and Kimsey Holly levees in Holt County, Mo.
The Canon Levee is a non-federal levee that breached during the 2011 flood. The Kimsey Holly Levee is a federal levee that experience minor erosion. Construction is expected to begin next week.
A total of seven contracts have been awarded to date to fix nine levees in the lower Missouri River Basin to repair flood damages from the 2011 flooding.
