News: Marine and long time Corrigan, Texas, resident is promoted to next rank

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Long time Corrigan, Texas, resident Alan D. Frank was promoted to the rank of corporal in the United States Marine Corps during a ceremony with Marines and sailors at Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group aboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story, Feb. 1.
Frank, who graduated from Corrigan-Camden High School in 2008, is currently serving as a small arms repair technician with Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group.
Since enlisting in May 2009, he has maintained and /or repaired more than $7 million dollars worth of military weapons and equipment.
Prior to serving at MCSCG, Frank served as a small arms repair technician at The Basic School in Quantico, Va., from December 2009 until June 2011. During this tour of duty, he maintained and repaired weapons for the third largest armory in the Marine Corps.
Due to his knowledge, work ethic and overall expertise in the area of weapons maintenance, Frank was routinely relied upon at TBS to instruct newly commissioned officers on this subject.
Frank lives in the Virginia Beach area of Virginia.
His father, Tim W. Frank currently resides in Panama City, Fla., and his mother Misty G. Woods resides in Baytown, Texas.
Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group is a unit in the Marine Corps that coordinates, manages, executes, and evaluates United States Marine Corps Security Cooperation programs and activities, to include assessment, planning, related education and training, and advisor support to ensure unity of effort in building Partner Nation Security Forces capacity and capability in order to facilitate USMC and regional Marine Forces component support to combatant commanders security cooperation objectives.
