CONTINGENCY OPERATING BASE ADDER, IRAQ – Command Sgt. Maj. Debbie Schroder of the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command and an El Paso, Ill., native, flew to Contingency Operating Base, Adder in a battlefield circulation where she presided over a battlefield promotion board.
The 4th Sustainment Brigade, 310th ESC, held a battlefield promotion board July 28. Soldiers, ranging from private to sergeant, stood before Schroder and the Wrangler Brigade’s Command Sgt. Maj. Erik Frey.
Schroder spoke to every representing supervisor and every soldier, while also presenting a ceremonial coin to each as she went along. The personnel were then dismissed and Schroder, Frey and one other command sergeant major swore an oath before sitting down to convene over the packets.
“Those recommended are the best of the best,” said Schroder. “When I look at a packet, I’m looking at the whole soldier.”
The recommendations Schroder and fellow senior leaders recommended would eventually be moved to the next command level beyond the 310th ESC to receive a promotion.
