JOINT EXPEDITIONARY BASE LITTLE CREEK, Va. -- Westminster, Mass., native and Oakmont Regional High School class of 2001 graduate, Sgt. Gordon Paige was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the commanding officer at Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group, Col. Christopher McCarthy for his recent selection as the unit’s non-commissioned officer of the quarter aboard Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Va., May 26.
Paige, who is a member of the Iron Workers Union Local Number Seven, is currently serving as an embarkation chief with the logistics and embarkation section of MCTAG. Paige was recognized for his outstanding performance of duty and a collective standard of proficiency that exceeded all of his peers.
Paige checked into Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group in Virginia Beach, Va., in July of 2010. Prior to checking into MCTAG, Paige served as an embarkation NCO with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, Calif., where he deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Paige is married to Maria Paige who is originally from Oceanside, Calif. but currently resides with her husband in the Hampton Roads area.
His parents Gordon and Elisabeth Paige still reside in the Westminster, Mass. area.
Marine Corps Training and Advisory Group is a unit in the Marine Corps that provides conventional training and advisor teams to work alongside partner Nations' security forces.
