    ISAF Troops Provide Humanitarian Aid in Sakh

    QAISAR, Afghanistan – Humanitarian aid in the form of school supplies came to Afghan children in the village of Sakh, Faryab province in ISAF Regional Command North, April 25.

    Troops from the U.S. Army A Battery, 1st Battalion, 84th Field Artillery Regiment, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team were greeted by village elders and over 50 children, who were waiting to receive the notebooks provided by the International Security Assistance Force.

    “It makes me feel good when they smile,” said U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Luther Hammond, 3rd Platoon Sergeant, A Battery, 1-84 Field Artillery of the Afghans when he performs this particular mission. “Helping the Afghans is important and we are there to give them supplies as well as security. It’s a good thing.”

    According to Luther, helping the Afghans in his area of responsibility is important and makes a significant difference.
