KABUL, Afghanistan - Afghan National Security and International Security Assistance Forces arrested a Taliban facilitator known to provide support and assistance to Taliban fighters in the local area, during a joint operation in Ab Band District, Ghanzi province, Sunday.

Multiple intelligence sources and tips from local citizens led the combined security force to the Taliban facilitator's location. After securing the suspected insurgent location, Afghan forces called-out all occupants to allow them to exit peacefully. While searching the location, the security forces discovered numerous automatic weapons, rocket-propelled grenades and communication devices.

After initial questioning at the scene the security forces detained two suspected insurgents, one of which was the targeted Taliban facilitator, without incident.

The security force destroyed all the weapons, RPGs and grenades prior to departing the scene.
