News: Coast Guard medevacs man from tank ship near Galveston

HOUSTON - The Coast Guard medevaced a man from a 809-foot chemical tanker in Galveston Fairway Anchorage near Galveston, Sept. 29.
Watchstanders at Sector Houston Galveston received a report at approximately 12:28 a.m. that a 44-year old male crewman aboard the Eagle Toledo was in tremendous pain after attempting to lift a heavy object.
Air Station Houston launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and crew at approximately 1:34 a.m. Once on scene, the crew successfully hoisted the man off the Eagle Toledo. The crewman was transported to awaiting emergency medical services and was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
The man's condition is currently unknown.
