SEATTLE - The Coast Guard rescued a fisherman who suffered a head injury on a fishing vessel off the Oregon coast Aug. 31.
The man was transported to Bay Area Hospital, North Bend.
A Coast Guard HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew from Station Newport, Ore., supported by a second HH-65C helicopter crew from Group/Air Station North Bend, Ore., conducted a edevac 50 nautical miles from Florence, Ore. The helicopter crew transported the man to emergency medical specialists waiting on shore.
