Combined Joint Task Force - 82 PAO

BAMYAN PROVINCE, Afghanistan — Members of New Zealand's Kiwi Team 2 recovered three caches of weaponry, March 6-8.

The caches consisted of 15-107 mm rockets, 6-82 mm mortar rounds, 55 rocket propelled grenades, 122 hand grenades, 5 anti-personnel mines, 82 hand grenade fuses, 3 rocket propelled grenade fuses, 1 box of 14.5 mm rounds and 150-7.62 mm rounds.

Those who reported the caches to coalition forces may receive money for their help in turning in the weapons. This is part of an on-going Department of Defense Reward Program.

Also, there are community safety lines across Afghanistan for citizens to report criminal activities.

Bamyan residents who would like to participate, should call 079-925-3277 and Parwan residents should call 079-825-9059.

Citizens in other provinces should contact their local Afghan national security forces directly for the number to report weapons or criminal activities in their area.
