Service members from Al Asad Air Base took a few hours out of their Thanksgiving Day to conduct a Medical Civil Action Program mission.
Doctors and corpsman from various 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward) units treated and diagnosed an array of ailments, ranging from common colds to broken wrists. While the doctors saw patients, other volunteers passed out school supplies, food and clothes. All of the supplies were donated from various people and companies throughout the United States.
"During our first trip, we were able to establish good relationships with the school's principal and village leader," said 2nd Lt. Samuel Jacobson, a platoon commander with 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment and organizer of the visit. "Trips like these take a while to organize, but the end result is always worth it."
