FORWARD OPERATING BASE KALSU, Iraq – The 230th Military Police Company officially replaced the 127th Military Police Company in a transfer of authority ceremony held on Forward Operating Base Kalsu, Jan. 19.

The 127th MP Co. deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Nov., 2006, and had units on FOB Kalsu, FOB Rio and Iskandariyah.

During the TOA, Lt. Col. Frank Rangel, commander of the 720th MP Battalion, thanked the outgoing company for all they had done while deployed and welcomed the new unit.

"Today marks yet another transition for Soldiers of the Gauntlet as we transition from one great unit to another," Rangel said.

Capt. Darren Johnson, commander of 127th MP Co., recognized everything that his company achieved while deployed and told them to be proud of it all.

"Your accomplishments will definitely not go unknown," Johnson said. "Thank you all for your support. Job well done."

The incoming company commander addressed those in attendance about the tasks ahead.

"I have no doubt that we will accomplish this mission without fail," said Capt. Shaun Hall, commander of the 230th MP Co.

Hall reminded his Soldiers to remember their training and what they have learned.

"Leaders remain ever vigilant," Hall said. "Keep my Soldiers' morale high and don't let the standards and discipline that we hold dear falter."

The ceremony was marked by the traditional casing and uncasing of the colors.
