    CAMP ASAKA (JGSDF), Japan – Bilateral command post exercise Yama Sakura 67 ended Dec. 15 after two weeks aimed to deepen mutual understanding and communication skills and to improve interoperability between Japan and the U.S. forces.

    The exercise has continued for 32 years and rotates annually to one of the five Japan Ground Self-Defense Force armies. This year YS-67 was hosted by Eastern Army headquartered here.

    Support for this year’s exercise were more than 4,500 JGSDF and from command posts and units worldwide more than 2,000 U.S. military taking part.
