Story by Staff Sgt. Leah Kilpatrick

    1st Cavalry Division

FORT HOOD, Texas — The 1st Cavalry Division Equal Opportunity Office hosted its second iteration of the Equal Opportunity Leader’s Course from Dec. 8 through 16 at the 1st Cavalry Division Soldier and Family Readiness Center at Fort Hood, Texas.

Fort Hood Soldiers usually have to wait until a slot is available in the 30-person III Corps EOL Course, but the First Team office had the assets to run its own, said Lt. Col. Shawana Mcknight-Brazzle, the 1st Cavalry Division EO program manager.

The content of the course is controlled by the Department of the Army and includes discussion on race, prejudice, power and authority, as well as the process of filing an EO complaint.

The First Team EOL Course is open to other units on post as well. The next class is scheduled for Feb. 9-20.
