    Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas

WASHINGTON - Since the campaign kickoff on Sept. 8, 2014, the civilian and uniformed employees of the Department of Defense (DoD) serving in the five overseas combatant commands have been pledging funds to help people in need through the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas (CFC-O). The lives of tens of thousands of people in military communities, across the nation and around the world will be forever changed as a result of these contributions. After an exciting season, the campaign is nearing its close, however there is still time left to give. myPay and eGiving will be open for pledging until Monday, Dec. 15 at www.cfcoverseas.org.

“The generosity the men and women of the DoD have shown during the 2014 campaign is truly inspiring,” said Victoria Adams, executive director of the CFC-O. She added, “Already committed to serving our nation, these men and women are extending their service through the CFC-O. Their selflessness and compassion are helping to make the world a better place.”

With more than 2,600 National and International charities from which to choose, contributors can find and support causes that have personal significance to them. Those looking for options to give closer to their charities back home, can take advantage of Universal Giving, which expands contributors’ giving options to pledge to any of the CFC local charities across the United States. The complete, searchable charity list is available online at cfcoverseas.org.

Contributors can also choose to leave their pledge undesignated, whereby their contribution is directed to the overseas military community through the Family Support and Youth Program (FSYP) fund. FSYP donations are returned to overseas military installations to support quality of life programs for DoD civilians, uniformed service members and their families.

Every donation, large or small, makes a difference in the lives of those in need. Here are just a few examples of how your contribution helps others:

    • $10 provides health care services to one mother and her baby, from pregnancy to post-delivery.
    • $15 feeds a starving family for a month.
    • $50 provides a scholarship for one child to attend a year of school.
    • $75 gives wounded soldiers the supplies necessary for a comfortable flight home.

Donate today. Give because you care by visiting www.cfcoverseas.org.
