    Honorable transfer ceremony to be conducted at Rickenbacker Airport for active-duty Soldier who died last week in Afghanistan

    COLUMBUS, Ohio - An honorable transfer ceremony for the remains of Spc. Joseph W. Riley, who died Nov. 24, 2014, while serving in Afghanistan, will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Rickenbacker International Airport.

    Riley was assigned to 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

    Media planning to attend must report outside of the airport terminal no later than 9 a.m. Wednesday, and will be received by Ohio National Guard personnel who will provide further details on the event and escort them to the ceremony location.

    It is requested and emphasized of all those attending to please be respectful of the family's wishes for a dignified ceremony. Media must remain with their escorts at all times and remain in designated areas when acquiring photographs and video footage.

    The family will not be available for interviews at the ceremony Wednesday.
