    20th CBRNE Command

    FORT HOOD, Texas - U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians put rounds downrange during a live fire exercise in October.

    Soldiers from the 79th EOD Battalion shot the M2 .50-caliber machine gun here at the Qualification Training Range.

    Headquartered on Fort Hood, Texas, and made up of five EOD companies, the 79th EOD Battalion is part of 71st EOD Group, 20th CBRNE Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives).

    The 20th CBRNE Command is home to 85 percent of the Active U.S. Army's CBRNE capabilities, with two EOD Groups, one CBRN Brigade and several special purpose capabilities, including deployable laboratories, Nuclear Disablement Teams and CBRNE Coordination Elements.

    With Soldiers and civilians on 19 posts in 16 states, 20th CBRNE counters Weapons of Mass Destruction, eliminates CBRNE threats and defeats improvised explosive devices around the world.
