    FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Oct. 19 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident in Burnet County, Texas.

    Staff Sgt. Bryan Phillip Pitney, 33, whose home of record is listed as Deerfield, Mich., entered active duty service in June 1999, as an AH-64 attack helicopter repairer. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since June 2008.

    Pitney deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from March 2003 to August 2003 and April 2009 to April 2010. He also deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from January 2002 to April 2002, March 2005 to March 2006, June 2011 to May 2012 and January 2014 to October 2014.

    Pitney's awards and decorations include seven Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, five Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Iraqi Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, three Overseas Service Ribbons, NATO Medal and Aviation Badge.
