    179th AW dedicates C-130H spirit of Clear Fork Valley

    MANSFIELD, Ohio – On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, the 179th Airlift Wing will dedicate one of the C-130H, aircraft 81-0629 to the villages of Bellville and Butler. The dedication ceremony will begin at 1530, weather permitting, the C130 will be located outside in front of the hangar 102. The 179th Airlift Wing will be designating the aircraft as the "Spirit of Clear Fork Valley". The title “Spirit of Clear Fork Valley” is painted over the aircrew door, underneath the title is an Air Force Outstanding Unit ribbon that the Wing has been awarded on numerous occasions.

    Special guest representing the Village of Butler will include Mayor Kevin Carr and family, Police Chief Brian Darby (tentative), Raymond and Donalee Swank, Rodney Snyder, Randy Johnson, Janice Wycoff and Judy Hammond. Special guest representing the Village of Bellville will include Mayor Darrell Banks, Councilman Larry Rose, Martha Banks (tentative), Fiscal Officer Brigette Gatton (tentative), Police Chief Ron Willey (tentative), and Councilwoman Joann Palmer (tentative). Col Gary McCue, 179th Airlift Wing Commander, will unveil the name during the dedication.
