SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – This week’s U.S. Army Central Soldier Spotlight is Sgt. Antonio L. Boller, a USARCENT food service noncommissioned officer.
Boller joined U.S. Army Central from Illesheim, Germany, from 3-159 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade in 2011. Boller, a Leesburg, Va. native, joined the Army after graduating from high school and said entering into the U.S. Army opened opportunities to provide for his family.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I enjoy spending time with my kids, playing basketball and watching sports.
Q. What do you enjoy doing most during your free time?
A: During my free time I love to play and watch sports.
Q. What are your short/long term professional goals?
A: My short term goal is to get promoted to staff sergeant and my long term goal is to complete
my associate degree and later obtain a bachelor’s degree in management.
Q. When did you make the decision to become a Soldier and why?
A: I decided to join the military to provide for my family.
Q. If you could take a vacation to a location of your choice, where would you go?
A: I would go to Jamaica.
Q. What do you enjoy most about being a Soldier?
A: I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and to see how we come together for one common goal.
Q. If you could change one thing about the Army, what would you change and why?
A. I would change the pay for enlisted Soldiers because enlisted Soldiers are the backbone of the
Army and their pay should not be drastically lower than an officer’s.
Q. If you could hold a different position in ARCENT for one day, what position would you
choose?
A: I would choose to be the commanding general for a day, just to get an idea of the challenges
and decisions that he has to make.
