Greywolf attends military appreciation dinner in Copperas Cove

3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division

FORT HOOD, Texas - Col. Matthew Van Wagenen and Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Peare, the commander and command sergeant major of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, attended the Copperas Cove military appreciation dinner in Copperas Cove, Texas, Sept. 18 to kick off the official community partnership with the brigade and the city.

The dinner is an effort for the 1st Cavalry Division to connect and give back to communities around Fort Hood. The 1st Cavalry Division recently initiated throughout its footprint partnerships focused at the community level. This effort allows brigades and local communities to connect with each other, strengthening the bonds in the areas where Soldiers, families and civilians live and work.

"The newly established direct partnership with Copperas Cove allows 3rd Brigade to build a closer, long-lasting relationship that reflects our appreciation for the ongoing hospitality our Soldiers and families receive,"said Van Wagenen, commander of the 3rd BCT. "When we each lend a hand, there is no limit to what we can accomplish together."
