ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam – Four MV-22 Osprey Tiltrotor aircraft carrying U.S. infantry Marines will conduct an island seizure exercise on Tinian’s North Field Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. The training will be conducted in order to exercise the integration of ground training in Valiant Shield 2014.
Media who would like to attend this event should contact the Joint Information Bureau no later than 4 p.m. Sept. 19. A public affairs representative will meet media at the Tinian International Airport at 9 a.m. Sept. 20 to escort them to the landing zone.
The itinerary for the day is:
- 9-9:30 a.m. Travel to the landing zone
- 9:30-10 a.m. Receive a scenario overview and safety brief
- 10-10:30 a.m. MV-22s land, infantry Marines offload and seize the island:
- 10:30-10:50 a.m. Receive an after action brief and have a question and answer period with Lt. Col. James Whiteker
Valiant Shield is a U.S.-only exercise integrating U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corps assets, offering real-world joint operational experience to develop capabilities that provide a full range of options to defend U.S. interests and those of its allies and partners.
